According to the Public Relations Office of Hazrat-e Masoumeh University, Hazrat-e Masoumeh University and Wasit University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on academic cooperation on the sidelines of the major international scientific event, the Iran–Iraq Science Week.

The MoU aims to promote the active participation of faculty members and researchers in science and technology and to further develop academic relations between the two universities. It was signed by Dr. Maryam Bordbar, President of Hazrat-e Masoumeh University, and Dr. Mazen Hassan Jasim Al-Husseini, President of Wasit University, in the presence of Dr. Hadadi Asl, Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for International Affairs and President of the Ministry’s Center for International Scientific Cooperation, and Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, Deputy Minister of Science of Iraq for Scientific Affairs.

Under the MoU, the two universities will cooperate in several areas, including the exchange of faculty members for teaching courses; providing educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing their studies at either university; implementing joint research projects; organizing joint conferences, academic courses, and scientific events; utilizing each other’s capacities in book and academic article publication; and establishing joint academic and research networks.
