According to the Public Relations Office of Hazrat-e Masoumeh University, Dr. Maryam Bordbar, President of the University, emphasized during the meeting the University’s strong commitment to strengthening reciprocal academic and cultural relations with Iraq. She stated: “The University’s academic, research, and cultural capacities are extensive enough to provide a suitable platform for advancing scientific diplomacy, with a particular focus on issues related to women and the family.” Elaborating on the attractions and potential of this young university, she added: “Iraqi professors who have visited the University on several occasions have acknowledged these capacities and attractions, to the extent that requests have even been made for them to be hosted at the University to undertake research sabbaticals.”

The President of Hazrat-e Masoumeh University also highlighted the advantages of Iraqi female students pursuing their studies at the University, stating: “The presence of Iraqi female students at this university not only addresses their families’ concerns about their daughters studying in a safe environment specifically designed for women, but also, owing to the University’s location in the holy city of Qom and the students’ access to its rich academic and religious sites and resources, provides valuable opportunities for learning and intellectual enrichment.” Dr. Bordbar added: “The University’s academic cooperation with our friendly and neighboring country, Iraq, can take shape across a wide range of areas, including the implementation of joint projects, the organization of international conferences and training courses, and even research investment.”

Dr. Amjad Al-Muzaffar, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Iraq in Iran, expressed his satisfaction with the existence of such potential in Qom Province and stated: “Many Iraqi families are interested in having their daughters study at universities exclusively for women.” He welcomed the establishment of strong and substantive academic relations between Iraqi universities and Hazrat-e Masoumeh University, noting: “There are various ways to establish connections between universities, particularly by facilitating interaction between Iraqi professors and this university, and the Embassy of Iraq will certainly support efforts to facilitate such relations.”

The Iraqi Cultural Attaché also announced his support for the University’s inclusion on the list of universities approved by Iraq’s Ministry of Science and Research, stating: “What was discussed in this meeting regarding the University’s characteristics demonstrates that, in addition to meeting the minimum academic and research standards, the University possesses other unique advantages that distinguish it from other universities.” At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Amjad Al-Muzaffar expressed hope that academic cooperation between Iranian and Iraqi universities, pursued with a profound and mutually beneficial approach, would bring valuable achievements and benefits to both countries.
